Photo reporter miraculously survived the tsunami
The impressive image of a working Japanese reporter was swept away by the tsunami but luckily escaped was recorded and announced yesterday.
Toya Chiba - Iwate Tokai newspaper reporter - stands in the middle of a rising wave in Kamaishi city. Images of him are recorded by a traffic camera.
When he was recording on the bank of Owatari River on March 11, the tsunami struck.
He still tried to take pictures when the wave hit him.
Toya Chiba escaped death by clinging to a rope hanging from the rope and climbing up a pile of coal 8 meters high after being swept away by 30 meters.He was only scratched and bruised some places.
Toya Chiba stood in the area where he was swept away by the tsunami and recounted his affliction.
