'At noon on October 26, a small truck loaded a large amount of pesticides into the land of Nguyen Thi Huong, the 11 quarters 1 (P. Thanh Xuan Q12). All were put into the warehouse and only left in front of the yard 3 paper drums of 120kg each. The next day, the people in this land had opened a barrel and sprayed it onto a field of about 3,000 square meters of rice fields . '. Mr. Huynh Van Khuong resides in 111/1 KP 1 in Thanh Xuan ward called on the hotline to inform SGGP.

According to Mr. Khuong, after spreading a drum, the smell of pesticide is strong, making the people around him unable to bear it. The incident was reported to the head of the town and the executive board of the neighborhood. At 6 am on October 28, the remaining two drums were continued to be sprayed down. This time, the concentration of the drug is too dense, causing many people to be shocked, difficulty breathing, headache and vomiting.
Mr. Tang Van Thieu, on the opposite side of the land less than 5 meters away, annoyed: My whole family was in a state of health injury. The land has been used by a company producing pesticides to test plant varieties for three years.
Many times this establishment has been opposed by people because of pesticide residues spreading in the air, soaking into the ground causing serious environmental pollution. The groundwater here is used by domestic people as a living water and Thanh Xuan Company uses to process into pure bottled water, the more this case of pollution cannot be accepted. Remarkably, the women reacted fiercely to this case but did not understand why the drug testing still continued for many years.
Every ward, district . do not know
When we came to find out, it was a surprise that Mr. Vo Minh Lam, Chairman of Thanh Xuan Ward People's Committee, was completely unaware of the above incident. Immediately, he instructed ward officials to invite Inter-district Plant Protection Station 12 - Hoc Mon to coordinate the preparation of the minutes.
Through the minutes, it is known that this land area was leased by Saigon BVTV Limited Company to be a place for testing drugs with plant varieties. In the minutes, employees of the company admitted to spraying drugs, but did not pollute the environment and affect people's health (!?).
The People's Committee of Thanh Xuan ward and the Inter-district Plant Protection Station 12 - Hoc Mon requested that this test be stopped immediately and there must be a detailed report. BVTV Saigon Company also confirmed this is a test station of the company.
However, Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong, the landlord and technical manager of the company, denied the allegations of the people. She said in the process of testing new rice varieties, the company has sprayed 20kg of Diafos and Cartels to kill yellow snails. The spraying of this drug is in accordance with the state regulations, does not cause environmental pollution and does not cause poisoning in residential areas.
However, Dr. Ly Van Rap, an officer in charge of environment of District 12's Natural Resources and Environment Department, acknowledged that it was not known in the district. He said that according to regulations, to set up such a unit must have a scheme and must be approved. Meanwhile, Mr. Lam, Chairman of the Ward People's Committee, affirmed that this test station has no operating license.
People in the first quarter expect the authorities to conduct surveys and assess the groundwater resources early to see if they have been contaminated, and take measures to treat pollution and prevent the reuse of pesticides in the area. this population.
