Radioactive particles can treat the root of breast cancer
Cancer treatment specialists at Tom Baker Cancer Center, Calgary, Canada are using new methods for treating breast cancer. It is implanting radioactive particles to destroy the remaining cancer cells after dissection of tumors.

Dr Siraj Husain, a radiotherapist, said the new treatment was based on the technology of transplanting radioactive , grain-sized particles of rice into the diseased area to replace the radiation treatment. The system is still in use for a long time.
According to Dr. Husain, since not using radiation beams on the body, the new method will limit the effects of radiation on the skin as well as other organs of the patient.
In addition, the implantation of radioactive particles will also help reduce the risk of changing the breast shape of the patient, and will not force the patient to go to the hospital every day for several weeks as in traditional radiotherapy .
In a national study of radioactive seed implants, 20 low-risk patients will be given this procedure.
Dr. Husain affirmed that radiotherapy could take a step forward in the area of breast cancer treatment.
Patients will be implanted 50-80 radioactive seeds around the diseased body part. These radioactive particles are made from radioactive element palladium and implanted into the body through a special needle.
After implantation, these radioactive particles will stay inside the body and lose radiation after about 6 weeks. However, only patients with tumors less than 3cm in size and classified as low-risk were treated with this method.
The implantation of radioactive particles to kill breast cancer cells was first performed at the Sunnybrook Medical Science Center in the city of Toronto. At that time, the Alberta Cancer Fund funded a $ 252,000 grant to purchase specialized equipment needed for implantation.
If this method works positively, it will be great news for the "half" of the world because breast cancer is one of the diseases with the highest incidence of women and the cause of death. Top deaths in sisters.
