People rarely see them because they are often hunted for meat.

Adventurer Rafael Reyna-Hurtado tracks pigs weighing over 270kg for several years in Uganda. His team set up cameras in muddy areas due to speculation that pigs would stop there to cool off.

This way works. This is a rare image of a large wild boar with short black fur, sharp teeth and sharp cheeks. However, their numbers are declining, mainly due to poaching and destroyed habitats.

They play an important role in the forest because they eat plants and are the prey of leopards and lions.
