Astronomer photographer Rafael Defavari has filmed the largest planet in the solar system disappearing behind the moon's jagged surface.

This great phenomenon is called obscurity, which is the state of an object covered by another celestial body at the eye level of the person who is observing the first celestial body.

Only some parts of the southern hemisphere can observe this phenomenon on Christmas day. And Mr. Defavari shot the image in São Bernardo do Campo (Brazil).

The video also captures Jupiter, nearly 122 times the size of Earth, reappears and disappears again in the dark areas of the moon.

One of the moons of a giant gas object, called Io, also 'makes fun' by appearing as a ghost on the surface of Jupiter when it reappears to the screen.

At that time, the moon was about 386,000 kilometers from Earth, while Jupiter, the fifth planet from the sun, was more than 579,363,840 kilometers away, according to the Bad Astronomy website.
