Red rain like blood in India
People in a city in southeastern India were taken aback and panicked when they saw pools of blood reddened after a short rain.
The strange rain appeared in Kannur, Kerala state, India at about 6:50 am on July 5, local time and lasted for 15 minutes, the Times of India reported. Many people panicked when their fields turned red like blood after the rain.
"At first I thought someone killed animals and poured their blood and water into my yard , " said Shaija M, head of the Puzhati village council on the outskirts of Kannur city.

Shaija kept a sample of rain water on July 5. She said that after a while, rainwater turned black like coffee and smelled like sugar beet root.
This is not the first time people in Kerala state witnessed red rain. On July 25, 2001, red rains poured into many areas of the state and continued to appear until September 23. Also the yellow, green and black rains also occurred.
Kerala State Meteorological Agency affirmed that red rain is a rare natural phenomenon but not dangerous.
"I think the red color of rainwater is the result of air pollution. Pollutants dissolved in rainwater cause the water to turn red," said M Santhosh, director of the Kerala State Meteorological Agency. , explain.
Red rains often appear in the early part of the rainy season, but the last rain occurred in the middle of the rainy season. Many people will send rain water samples that they collect to health authorities for analysis.
