Reduced sperm because sauna?
A new study warns that regular bathing may reduce the number of sperm in the eyebrow, although the effect seems to be temporary.
Regular steam baths can affect sperm count
Researchers at the University of Padova (Italy) draw their conclusions after surveying healthy volunteers in their 30s with normal sperm count.
These people spend 15 minutes in the sauna twice a week for three months. After that, they stopped going to the sauna.
The results showed that the steam baths reduced the number of sperm in the volunteers, and the amount of sperm was below the normal level for three months after the men stopped steaming.
However, after 6 months, the sperm count returned to normal.
The reason is attributed to high temperatures affecting sperm production, New Kerala news agency (India) quoted Dr. Andrew Kramer, a doctor on urology at the University of Maryland (USA).
