Robot created unlimited wireless network

A group of 7 Northeastern University students in Boston, MA designed the robots that could overcome the rough terrain and carry their wifi transmitters. So in theory, this robot can create unlimited wireless networks.

This group of students face three major issues to address. The first is the robot must overcome the rubble or complex terrain; The second is to create a strong wireless network, low cost, easy to deploy; Finally, remote control of the robots as they create networks.

The robot is wrapped in an aluminum shell that looks like a military one, measuring 102 x 66cm, weighs 68kg but can carry 91kg. It was named Chiacchieri , very hardy in harsh environments, operating within 1km and working continuously for 12 hours thanks to the lithium rechargeable battery pack. Chiacchieri is also equipped with a GPS system, a night view webcam and a microphone. Chiacchieri's prototype was first made by CAD software and made of wood, the finished version was made of metal with aluminum cover.

The important part of the robot-generated wifi network is the repeater box located on the back, using Linksys routing equipment, open source software for maximum compatibility with minimum cost and antenna range. distortion and amplifier. It will automatically communicate with the nearest wifi source and extend the network hierarchy, so theoretically there is infinite loop capability.

According to Gizmag, operating the robot via the web interface and the map GPS display will provide the operator with its path, enabling it to access the appropriate wireless network.
