Robot works with waste

British scientists have successfully created robots capable of producing electricity from human waste.

EcoBotIII, the name of a new type of robot, invented by experts at the University of Bristol's Robot Laboratories in the UK, is capable of generating electricity from soft and liquid wastes with high levels of nutrients. It is equipped with waste trays and batteries to produce electricity. The team claims that their product is the first to work with waste, the BBC reported.

Researchers at the University of Bristol hope their new robots will increase efficiency and reduce costs in the operation of waste treatment plants.

Dr Julian Dennis, who came up with the EcoBotIII idea, says that current liquid and liquid waste technologies require large amounts of electricity to be expensive. With EcoBotIII, plants can handle waste, just get the electricity from the robot so the cost of production will certainly decrease.
