Robots help the elderly

On November 1, Toyota Motor Corp. launched a high-tech health care center with robots that could take patients to bed or help patients and the elderly.

At the launch, Professor Eiichi Saitoh - paralyzed right leg due to polio - try to bring a help robot. This robot is actually a device that attaches to the leg, which helps him cushion his knee when needed, allowing him to walk more naturally and stand up much easier than a walker for the disabled.

Prices and plans to sell these robots overseas have not been announced yet, but Toyota says it plans to commercialize the machines after 2013.

Previously, Toyota introduced the trumpet and violin trumpet robot and did not hide its ambition to affirm its position in the auto industry in Japan.
