Rules for choosing a place in the elevator

A psychology student in Australia has discovered that in elevators, older men often choose to stand behind, younger men stand in the middle and women of all ages stand ahead.

Rebekah Rousi, at Jyvaskyla University, performed experiments in the two tallest buildings in Adelaide, in Australia.

After 30 times up and down the elevator, she found the above habits of different sexes and ages. According to Rousi, men often pay attention to others as well as themselves, but women don't pay attention to others, but only look at the mirror of the elevator when other women come along.

Discovery led Rousi to write on the blog: "Men often watch the digital screen of the elevator and look at the elevator mirror to observe themselves and others. Women also look at the digital screen but try to avoid looking into the eyes of the others and mirrors ".

Rousi said that the position of each person standing in the elevator depends much on their level of confidence. The courageous, confident people often stand behind, and the shy and timid people often stand in front. However, it is also possible that men often stand behind to politely invite women to go out first.
