A recent study by scientists from the University of Miami (USA) showed that HIV in the blood of HIV-infected people will be inhibited if enhanced Selenium.

Researchers at the University of Miami conducted tests on people with HIV. They divided HIV-infected patients into two separate groups. The first group consists of 91 patients, provided an additional 200g of sulfur a day. The second group consists of 83 people who are only treated with conventional antibiotics.

At the time of the test, the amount of Selenium in these patients' blood was the same. After more than 9 months, the results were different. The group of patients who received an additional 200 micrograms of Selenium each day had significantly lower levels of HIV virus than those with low sulfur levels in the blood.

Selenium (Se) is a chemical element of the VIA group, cycle 4, periodic table of chemical elements;serial number 34;atomic block 78.96.This element was discovered by Swedish chemist JJ Berzelius in 1817. In nature, as a dispersed element, often exists with sulfur.

At the same time, along with the reduction in the amount of HIV virus, in these blood, these patients appear more than the type of cell called CD4-a type of cell mainly in fighting infection.

Selenium has the ability to enhance immunity, disease resistance . This is extremely necessary for people with HIV because their immunity is very weak.

However, Mr. Roger Pebody, head of the British Association for the Protection of People with HIV, recommends, remember that Selenium is just an important factor, not a treatment.
