'Self-thinking' cruise missiles - the goal of Russian military engineering

The robotization missile system is one of the priority directions in Russian weapons and technical development.

Winged rockets know 'think, decide for themselves and choose attack tactics, assign tasks in attack groups, learn from yourself and avoid repeating mistakes' ? It is no longer what is only seen in fictional films but has been the pinnacle of Russian military engineering in the next 30 years.

In a recent interview for Izvestia, Russia's General Director of "Tactical Missile Weapons Group " Boris Obnosov said: 'If Russia focuses on its efforts, Russia will have a self-thinking rocket in 2050'. .

The robotization missile system is one of the priority directions in Russian weapons and technical development. Russia has now succeeded in manufacturing low-range cruise missiles flying on round terrain, searching and identifying targets by category and importance.

They can also deceive the enemy's missile defense system and resist electronic radio defense devices.

If you focus all your efforts, Russia will have your own missile in 2050?

As for the new generation 'smart' missile, Obnosov said, the cruise missile has three types of navigation systems: laser, mechanical and fiber optic . Depending on the accuracy requirements, select the navigation system. And the warhead itself guided the target for the missile.

Active warheads self-scan the target search space. And the passive warhead receiving radiation from the target and the task set today is to increase the operating distance of this self-guided warhead.

If the distance was only a few kilometers away, now it has increased by tens of kilometers, ensuring that missiles cannot miss the target.

This passive self-guided ballistic missile operates according to the map principle . A digital topographic map and electronic portrait of the target are installed on the computer on the rocket. The computer then searches for the object that matches the parameters of the installed target and directs the missile at it. A satellite navigation system is also mobilized to support missiles.

This is the basis for the Russian military science to advance to the type of smart missiles, capable of exchanging information between missiles in the attack group, from which to choose attack tactics and target assignment .

Imagine, one second before taking down the missile target sends signals to other missiles that the mission is completed. That signal allows not to "waste" many other missiles for the same target. The computer will assign the target to the missiles to continue to attack.

Obnosov said this was the pinnacle of missile technology, because similar to playing chess with a computer that never repeated the same move, it made it "invincible" first. the players.

Obnosov said that not only Russia, but also in the US and Europe have made the first steps in developing smart weapons. The "self-thinking" attack system requires huge costs and platform and application studies, but it can be said that it is becoming a trend in the military industry.
