Singapore unmanned electric vehicle test

According to a reporter in Singapore, the country will test the first unmanned electric vehicle over a distance of two kilometers between the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and JTC's CleanTech Park.

The device is powered by NTU's Energy Research Institute in collaboration with JTC and Induct Technology Manufacturing and Assembly Company, which can carry eight passengers at a maximum speed of 20km / h. Although electric vehicles have been used in the United States and Europe, researchers have developed and applied a number of new technologies to reduce the charging time and improve the equipment's performance.

Under the plan, this two-year experimental project is the first in the region and can be used to replace some bus routes. If successful, the device could be mass-produced in Singapore and then sold to the Asian market.

In fact, the size of the electric car is about 30 percent to 50 percent cheaper than normal buses, says Pierre Lefevre, managing director of Induct Technology. Mr Lefevre said that with these advantages, unmanned vehicles could be the solution to a number of specific areas.
