Sleeping to bright light is easy to gain weight
A study of obesity in mice showed that sleeping under bright light makes weight gain easier.
The researchers let some mice sleep in dim lights for eight weeks and observe them. As a result, these animals gained 50% more weight than the mice that slept in the dark.
" Although there are no differences in activity levels or diets, the mice that live in the light at night are more fat than others, " AFP quoted Laura Fonken, head of Ohio University's research team. America said.
" Light in the night makes the test mice feel appetite at a time when food metabolism is not as good as normal ," said co-author Randy Nelson.
If these results are confirmed in humans, it could lead to the conclusion that night meals are one of the factors that make people obese, Nelson said.
