Although only 3 cm long, Pepquino watermelon has the shape and watermelon-like ingredients that we often see. In addition, its pulp is light green in color and has a slightly sour taste. Experts of Koppert Cress (Netherlands) food processing company brought this melon to the country and planted it in a greenhouse.

With a special shape and a slightly sour taste, Koppert Cress believes that micro-watermelons will quickly appear in the most luxurious restaurants in European cities. The price of a Pepquino (50 fruits) melon is 14 USD. Anneke Cuppen, Koppert Cress's marketing director, said many famous restaurants and hotels in Europe have sent orders.

'We hope to sell between 50 and 100 boxes per week. The restaurant likes Pepquino watermelon because it is fancy and can be used in many ways. People can use it as an appetizer, breakfast or a salad, ' Cuppen added.
