Smart box makes nine eggs in just 2 minutes

Russian scientists have created a cardboard box that helps ripen eggs within two minutes without water .

This is the creation of KIAN group - a team of Russian inventors. Without a pot of water and no need to wait long, the smart cardboard box can fully ripen the egg inside.

The name of the box is called Gogol Mogol, which is named after the traditional Russian art egg. The outer layer is made of cardboard to form a box. Inside there are 3 more layers, one layer is soaked with calcium hydroxide and other chemicals, the other is called a 'smart layer' containing water.

Between the two inner layers is a diaphragm that can be drawn by pulling a thin piece of paper in the middle of the box. Once the diaphragm is pulled out, calcium hydroxide compound reacts with water in the smart layer to produce heat enough to ripen the egg inside.

This technology has been used in making hot dogs and beans, which are very familiar to campers. However, this is the first time designers have applied the creation of chemical heat, known as an exothermic reaction, to an egg.

Even though a fresh egg is cooked in just two minutes, the heat generated inside the cardboard box remains for up to 3 minutes. The user will depend on whether he wants to eat the eggs well enough or wants to eat the eggs with peaches that determine the time of opening the lid.

With the creation of the box of Mogog Mogol, the authors received an award from the European Packaging Design Association. Although this technology has been successfully tested, currently there is no food company that has decided to introduce products to consumers.
