Discovery arrived at Space Station at 1452 GMT, bringing with it new equipment, supplies and an astronaut.

The space shuttle also tumbled before landing so that space station experts could consider the insulation on the abdomen.

Captain Steve Lindsey himself controlled Discovery when 300 meters from Space Station.

He gave the ship upside down to the astronauts on the Space Station, including the Russian Pavel Vinogradov, and the American Jeff Williams, who could photograph the abdomen.

This is one of the measures that NASA has taken to ensure shuttle safety since the 2003 tragedy.

Reinforcements

Discovery's crew consists of seven people, five men and two women. This is the 115th flight in the US airline agency's shuttle program.

Upon arriving at the Space Station, Discovery will deliver nearly 13 tons of equipment and supplies to this station.

One of the astronauts on Discovery, Thomas Reiter of Germany, will stay at the Space Station for six months.

So now there will be three people on the station.

Two other Discovery astronauts, Mike Fossum and Piers Sellers, will have two to three times out of space during their stay on the station.

At least once they will try to find ways to repair minor damage on the ship's wall.

Discovery will park at the Space Station for at least eight days before returning to Earth and following its landing plan on July 16.
