Archaeologists unearthed a large jar of cheese in the tomb of Ptahmes dating to around 3,300 years old in Egypt. This tomb belongs to the mayor of Memphis and dominated the Egyptian army in the 13th century BC.

Thousands of years of age-old ceramic jars were placed in sealed tombs and buried deep beneath the thick sand of the Sahara desert. This cheese is made from cow's milk, goat, sheep and especially African buffalo milk - an animal that had been raised for milk in ancient times.
