Strong earthquake in northwest China

A strong earthquake this morning rocked the northwestern part of China, but no information about human and human damage has been reported.

The magnitude 6 earthquake occurred in Lac Pho district (Lop), Hoa Dien district (Hotan), belonging to Xinjiang Uyghur ethnic group, at 6:50 am this morning in Beijing and Xinhua quoted. China Earthquake Network Center said. Epicenter at a depth of about 30km.

According to the US Geological Survey (USGS), the strong earthquake is about 5.8 on the Richter scale. The epicenter is about 214km southeast of A Khac To town (Aksu), which is near the border with the Kyrgyz Republic, and at a depth of about 35.5km.

There is no information about human damage yet and after this strong earthquake.

Nearly four years ago, on May 12, 2008, a magnitude 7.8 earthquake occurred in Sichuan Province, southwestern China, killing nearly 70,000 people. China is a country with frequent seismic attacks that cause great casualties. A few days ago, a magnitude 5 earthquake also occurred in Xinjiang Autonomous Region.
