Sundarbans National Park (India)

The middle area, located in West Bengal (India) was formed into the Sundarbans National Park in 1984 and recorded in the World Heritage List in 1987.

Located in an area with many violent tornadoes and tidal waves that sometimes reach 75 meters, the Sundarbans form a barrier to protect the interior areas for these disasters. Low mangrove forests, salty forests, coastal forests and dune plants are home to many animals.

Most importantly, it is home to India's largest Bengal tiger population, in 1983 it was estimated to have 264 animals. Many types of aquatic mammals such as dolphin Ganges, Indian-Pacific dolphin dolphins and finless dolphins are also available. As the place where the most intense conflicts between people and nature take place, Sundarbans is also a place that symbolizes the determination of people to save Bengal tigers from extinction.
