Dr. Nguyen Viet Vinh, a seafood expert, said that the Turtle is due to starvation."The amount of fish stocked in the lake is not much, it is the live fish, it is not easy to catch a sparse number of fish on the area of the lake, especially when the instrument is used to the environment to be fed when nursing " Mr. Vinh said.

The Sword Lake Turtle tool was released back into the natural environment in the lake in July, after more than three months of being kept in a tank to treat wounds.

Dr. Bui Quang Te, a seafood expert, also said that turtles may lack food. But he also added the reason that floating turtles continuously due to polluted environment or changing weather."Over the past few days the weather has been cold and murky, turning into sunny weather, so the turtle can emerge to sun, help digestion, move more easily, even to destroy mold on the body" , Dr. Qi said.

Predicting the cause of Sword floating lake turtle, Prof. Ha Dinh Duc said that this season is the dry season, the renovation of Hang Khay lake section has not yet been implemented. When the sun rises, the algae in the lake flourish, causing the oxygen content of the water to drop rapidly, causing the lake to pollute, the Turtle must emerge to breathe.

In July, when the Tortoise tool dropped, the authorities decided not to attach the tracking chip to be free. To ensure food sources for Tortoise, Hanoi Fisheries Department has released about 60,000 fish into Sword Lake, mainly drifting fish, sesame, tilapia . When still in the nursing tank, every day eat about 5 fish.

Earlier, during the process of catching turtles, there were reports that there were more than one turtles in the lake. However, there has not been any record of that second or third fish so far.
