Astronomers in Germany discovered a life-matching planet that could contain liquid water on the surface, orbiting its parent star 4.5 light-years from the Sun.
Although the planets lie far away from the host stars, they start to heat up and retain that hot temperature.
NASA scientists estimate that among planetary systems orbiting stars similar to the Sun, about 22% contain a life-sustaining planet.
Although only discovered a few dozen candidates like the earth, scientists say the universe is likely filled with strange worlds that can support life.
Until now, astronomers have confirmed more than 700 of the thousands of planets outside our solar system.
