Test two drugs Ebola and Marburg

US scientists have successfully tested two drugs AVI-6002 and AVI-6003 on monkeys infected with Ebola and Marburg virus.

Experimental results on monkeys showed that AVI-6002 can treat 60% of monkeys infected with Ebola virus, and AVI-6003 can treat 100% of monkeys infected with Marburg virus.

Scientists say the two drugs belong to a class of drugs called phosphorodiamidate Morpholino Oligonucleotides that, if used at the same time, can effectively treat the viral hemorrhagic fever.

Scientists have obtained a permit from the US Food and Drug Administration to circulate the two drugs. In the future, scientists expect to apply the two drugs.

Earlier, the US Department of Defense signed a $ 281 million contract with the company producing AVI drugs to produce Ebola antiviral drugs.

Ebola and Marburg viruses both belong to the family of filamentous viruses, causing dengue fever, the mortality rate of these two viruses is very high. In the short term, there are no drugs and vaccines to effectively prevent these two viruses.
