Smokey first appeared in the press in February 2011, when her employer, Ruth Adams, participated in a pet voice contest and won.
Brother Ruth Adams said Smokey has been living with his family for 3 years now. At home, she has a loud voice that is louder than a 737 when landing, with an average level of 80-85 decibels, even 92 decibels at extreme levels, and only when she smokey sleeps loudly.
Smokey now has its own website http://www.smokeythepurringcat.com and many fans.
The Guinness Council said that the largest sounds of animals can now reach 188 decibels and these are the common low-frequency rhythms of blue whales and fin whales while they communicate.
