It is also the longest stone bridge spanning a lake in China

It is a 2930m long stone bridge, called Qianyan (Thousand Bridge), made from granite and is one of about 1,000 similar stone bridges built during the Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644).

Qianyan Bridge has 948 wooden pegs that are closed to control flood water flow. Documents show that the building was built in 1631. This is also the longest stone bridge across the lake in China.

This year's dry season appears about 40 days earlier than usual. In the eastern part of Jiangxi province, the water level of Ba Duong Lake drops to 9,98 m, making the 400 year old bridge exposed. Meanwhile, during the seasons of the year, most of this stone structure is submerged in water.

In 2016, the local government allocated special funds with a total value of about 127,000 USD for the renovation of the project. At present, this famous bridge is one of the antiquities with important historical and cultural values, attracting tourists to admire.
