Domo released 5th year statistics about creating data and online behavior worldwide in the "Data Never Sleep 5.0" graphic . Overall, the Internet population increased by 7.5% since 2016 and now includes more than 3.7 billion people. On average, the United States alone produces 2,657,700 gigabytes of data per minute.

Internet-based media and services have seen strong developments in recent times. Amazon, YouTube and Netflix are three of the biggest Internet bandwidth companies.

The 2016 report shows that over 3.5 million text messages are sent every minute. In 2017, this figure was 15.2 million messages, an increase of 334%.
