But what is the truth about this cat?

Photos of a cat with a different colored eye in each eye, dubbed the 'diamond-eyed cat' because one eye sparkles like a diamond, were posted on social media in Thailand, causing excitement and rapid sharing among netizens. In just a few days, the photos were viewed 1.5 million times and received more than 124,000 likes.

Thai people believe that this cat brings luck, especially money, so many people have predicted the lottery numbers for the February 1st draw. Among them , the most popular numbers are 4, 7 and 8, which are 'lucky numbers' believed to be associated with cats , according to The Nation Thailand .

According to animal experts, this 'diamond-eyed' cat is a rare breed, called Khao Manee, which means 'white pearl'. This breed of cat has very strange eyes, each eye a different color, especially one eye that sparkles, changing color when reflecting light, so it looks like a diamond. Because this breed of cat looks so strange and rare, it is believed to bring good luck to the owner as well as those around it, and in the past, only the aristocracy in Thailand had them to raise.

Although the diamond eye is a prominent feature that makes this cat breed considered to be "attracting fortune", in reality, the diamond eye may not be the cat's own good fortune, as a recent study suggests that the eye is the result of glaucoma.
