The average speed of 4G networks is 12Mbps when tested
Verizon, one of the largest mobile operators in the US, announced the results of its 4G mobile network test in Boston and Seattle.
The results show that 4G LTE (Long Term Evolution) networks, when tested in the US, are significantly faster than current 3G speeds.
Accordingly, when tested in Boston and Seattle from August 2009 with the application of VoIP, video call, data file transfer ... 4G LTE download data download speed range from 5- 12 Mbps and upload speed is 2-5 Mbps. Some places also have download speeds of 40-50 Mbps and uploads of 20-25 Mbps.

Currently, Verizon plans to bring 4G LTE into full operation by the end of 2010, while AT & T will adopt 4G LTE in 2011. Another carrier, T-Mobile, HSPA + service, 4G Proximity technology. The reason given is that the terminal fails to run on the infrastructure of the 4G network.
4G LTE (Long Term Evolution) is the fourth generation of mobile connectivity that Verizon has been researching and developing since 2007 and launching mass market trials in 2009.
4G LTE allows the transfer rate to reach 100Mbps much faster than 3G, which is 14 Mbps, the equivalent of ADSL 2+ with the highest speed of 24Mbps.
However, now 2G networks at 56-114 kbps are common telecommunications technologies in many countries.
