The dark energy secret
It accounts for three-quarters of what is in the universe. It stretches space - time like a normal piece of rubber. And it makes researchers care. It is the dark energy, the greatest mystery of matter.
Dark energy is everywhere in the universe. It can cause all galaxies to move, but can't see it. In early 1998, researchers found that the universe was expanding too fast. An unexpected result. Certainly, about 15 billion years ago, at the time of the big bang, the universe was once suddenly expanded: its size increased to 1050 times in a split second. But this terrible expansion gradually diminished with time, under the influence of cosmic gravity (pulling planets, stars close together).
'We also have evidence of this rapid expansion thanks to some extremely bright stars,' explained Jean-Philippe Uzan, cosmologist at the Paris Institute of Astrophysics. at the end of his life radiating an extraordinary light, illuminating the whole universe like a floodlight. The advantage is that the light intensity of these stars is always stable. So we can use it as an effective means of measuring the distance between us and a dying star. The closer we are, the brighter it is. '
Astronomers have cataloged a large number of these extremely bright stars, after which they calculated the distance between them and the earth. 'In general, extremely bright stars are often less bright than before. That means we are farther away from them than anticipated. In other words, the universe has expanded faster, making the distance between the Earth and the stars extremely bright.
The expansion of this universe becomes the first evidence for the existence of dark energy. Researchers have no choice but to invent the concept of 'dark energy', a 'push' form of matter (because it pushes galaxies away from each other), to explain the The acceleration they observed. But it is impossible to imagine how particles carry this energy source.
Another evidence has just been discovered in October 2003. This time from the photonic foton, the particles carry light. American researchers were interested in photonic foton long journeys, passing through galaxies with hundreds of millions of light-years before reaching Earth.
Normally, the energy of a photonic foton is not affected by the way it passes. It is theory on paper. In fact, the photonic foton is adding a bit of energy from the outside. An unusual thing can only be explained by the impact of dark energy. It helps photonic foton escape gravity.
Speculations help scientists get closer to dark energy, but have yet to prove it. Yet this energy source makes up the majority of the total energy of the universe.
