The dog waits in front of the hospital where the owner died 8 months ago

A dog in Brazil stood patiently in front of the hospital gate, where its owner died 8 months ago.

Oddity Central reported on August 9 that the black dog named Negao waited for eight months outside Ruth Cardoso hospital in the state of Santa Catarina, Brazil.

Late last year, the homeless man, the owner of the dog, was taken to the hospital due to unconsciousness on the road. When the owner is taken to the hospital, Negao follows an ambulance and stands outside the gate watching the owner be pushed inside. However, doctors diagnosed this person with a serious infection and died at the hospital a few days later.

At that time, Negao remained patiently waiting for the owner to return without knowing he had died and could not meet him. During 8 months, the dog never went too far from the hospital gate, where he saw the owner for the last time. Whenever an ambulance takes the patient, Negao listens and listens closely to see if the car is carrying it.

Negao's presence quickly caught the attention of hospital staff. After learning the story about the dog, they took turns taking food and water for it, while looking for shelter for the animal. Impressed by the loyalty of Negao, the two families came to adopt him. But Negao tried to escape from their home and returned to the hospital to continue waiting.

The hospital staff did not look for the person who adopted the dog but joined a local animal protection organization to take care of Negao until it was ready to leave. A veterinarian assigned to check the dog's health and the hospital also sent someone to take him on a regular walk.

"The dog will stay with us until he decides he wants to leave or stay , " said Giselle Bianchi, the hospital director. "If it is still here, we will give it the attention, warmth and love it needs."
