The earth warms up to make the alligators suffer.

Increasing climatic temperatures increase the number of female crocodiles and reduce the number of male crocodiles. This scenario could push some crocodiles into extinction.

If the temperature in the cave is about 32-33 degrees Celsius, the eggs will hatch male. If the temperature is greater or smaller than that interval, it will produce females. Normally, the temperature changes from the top to the bottom of the cave, causing the eggs to hatch both male and female.

" As long as the temperature difference is between 0.5 and 1 degrees Celsius, the sex ratio of crocodiles is much different ," said Alison Leslie, an expert at Stellenbosch University (South Africa). " As temperatures rise, the number of children will also increase. This situation may lead to the disappearance of some crocodile species ."

Meanwhile scientists all claim that the earth will continue to heat up in the next few decades.

Alison Leslie is one of the leading scientists at the Earthwatch Crocodile Research Institute, part of the Okavango Delta project in Botswana.
