After years of research, American scientists have finally succeeded in producing dogs from IVF.

BBC on 10/12 led scientists' statement to say that this success has important implications, which can help preserve rare and precious genetic resources as well as help scientists find ways to fight diseases in people and animals.

Research by scientists at Cornell University, New York, USA. They used frozen embryos implanted in a bitch by using techniques similar to those used in IVF in humans.

Previously, scientists encountered many problems when frozen embryos were implanted, but the team said they had perfected the technique.

"We have 7 healthy, happy, normal puppies," said research leader Dr. Alex Travis.

He said since the mid-1970s, humans have tried IVF in dogs but failed."Now we can use this technique to preserve the genes of endangered animals," he said.

The study, published in PLoS One, is described as a "big step " in veterinary science.

In addition to helping preserve endangered species, it can also be used in studies of human and dog diseases.

According to scientists, dogs have many diseases similar to humans - almost double that of other species.
