The first water house in the world

A Hungarian architect studied new construction techniques, created water walls, helped balance the heat for the whole building, as well as reducing carbon emissions.

Discover the first house built with water

Water is the perfect material to keep the ideal temperature for the home , Matyas Gutai, Hungarian architect said. After years of studying " fluid construction techniques" , along with his high school friend Milan Berenyi, Gutai built a model house with water in his home town of Kecskemet, central Hungary.

According to CNN, in 2013, while studying architecture at Tokyo University, Gutai came up with the idea of building a house with water during an outdoor hot bath. At that time, although snow was falling, Gutai didn't feel cold. That's when he realized the importance of water surface temperature and the potential to use it in construction.

The house is constructed of panels, steel and glass.Water is pumped into the middle layer, helping to balance the heat for the whole building.

" The panels help to heat or cool the house. The water inside it acts like a fireplace," Gutai explained. When cold, hot water stored in external tanks is pumped between panels, helping to warm the house. Room temperature is also adjustable using the same control system as central heating.

" This method saves energy more than a similar sized building, also built of glass ," Gutai said. This is an efficient and sustainable system that can produce energy on its own , independent of energy suppliers and reduce carbon emissions.

" In the new age, architecture is gradually changing. We have reached the limit of solid architecture, and now, we need to look for another form of architecture, " Gutai said, "carefully. "Art of liquid construction"

"I started researching this method 7-8 years ago, " Gutai explained. It took him nearly 6 years to build the house. During construction, there are many structural problems, such as if the outdoor temperature is too cold, the water in the wall will freeze, or what happens if a panel is broken.

" We have mixed water with a natural solvent, no pollution, but reduced the freezing temperature to a feasible level. This means that, even if the machine heats down the water, water cannot freeze. . "

In addition, the panels are also specially designed, allowing the flow to slow through, but locking the flow quickly . If a panel is broken, water will be retained in other panels immediately. This effect is based on the hydrodynamic principle, without the need for electronic computers or monitoring systems.

Currently, Gutai is collaborating with universities and manufacturers to ensure feasibility in building construction. His model house is only 8 m2 wide.

" Our goal is to use less energy and materials, and replicate this model to as many cities as possible, " Gutai said. He is currently working at Fengjia University, Taiwan.
