The flight made history of aviation

December 17, 1903 opened a new era for world aviation history.

December 17, 1903 opened a new era for world aviation history.

At Kill Devil Hill, Kitty Hawk, North Carolina State (USA), on the Flyer plane, the Wright brothers Orville Wright and Wilbur Wright made a 12-second flight.

Although people had previously made many flights with the help of technical means, the Wright brothers flight was the first controlled human flight on a motorized aircraft.

The dream of flying to the sky is always the desire of people. Since the 15th century, Leonardo da Vinci has spent a lot of time researching the wing-beating engine. From 1799-1890, British Baron George Cayley created a new concept for aircraft, laying the foundation for aerodynamics.

In 1840, the British inventor William Henson made an airplane, though powered by steam, but the machine still could not fly.

From 1891-1896, German engineer Otto Lilienthal carried out thousands of successful test flights with glider aircraft designed by himself. However, during a flight test, the broken wing glider caused him to die.

And it wasn't until the early years of the 20th century that the aspirations of flying into the sky of new people and Wright brothers were those who made that miracle.

Born in Dayton, Ohio, the United States, Orville Wright and Wilbur Wright, wished to build a flying machine into the sky at an early age. Learning from previous failure, during the study, the Wright brothers found that the problem of balance was key in flight.

After four years with many models, from kite to non-motorized aircraft, the Wright brothers were finally ready to test their first engine-built aircraft called the Wright Flyer .

At 10:30 am on December 17, 1903, at Kill Devil Hill, Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, USA, Orville Wright became the first pilot in the world with a historic flight lasting only 12 seconds, surpassing 36m.

Also on December 17, the Wright brothers conducted three more flights and the last one controlled by Wilbur flew 57 seconds with a length of 256m.

This event marked the turning point for the world aviation industry - the human race acquired the first aircraft that could be controlled by engines. In particular, many Wright-designed details for the Flyer 1 are still useful today. Currently, this aircraft is on display at the US National Museum of Space and Air in Washington.

When the news at Kitty Hawk spread everywhere, the Wright brothers immediately became famous. In 1906, they were recognized and granted copyright by the US government. In the following years, the Wright brothers formed Wright aircraft manufacturing company. On May 30, 1912, Wilbur Wright died of typhoid when he was 45 years old. The brother Orville alone runs the Wright company.

After the Wright brothers' period, the face of the world changed with the emergence of civil aviation. A deep revolution of transport means. The world becomes smaller and the geographical distance is almost exclusively on the map when all distance obstacles can be connected by air.

In 1913, it was marked as the "glorious year of aviation history . " People could now not only fly but also begin to glide and perform complex flight movements. Long distance flights have also been made, with a distance of 4,000km from France to Egypt.

In January 1914, civil aviation was born with the first stable air route in the world from Saint Petersburg to Tampa (Florida, USA).

In 1933, Boeing released generation 247, considered the first truly modern civil aircraft, with almost entirely metallic material. Boeing 247 is a single-wing, low-wing aircraft with a safe landing system, a separate cabin and a room for 10 passengers.

Today, the aviation industry has boomed with large, modern civil aircraft with fast and efficient speed.

The aviation industry ranks 21st in the world in terms of GDP if it is considered a nation. 0.5% of world trade volume is transported by air, accounting for 35% of global trade value.

Every year, around 2.6 billion people in the world choose to fly as a means of transportation. The average seat occupancy rate is 77%, much higher than other types of transport.

After more than a century of development, with the development of many modern aircraft, the aviation industry has made people closer to each other, shortening the distance between continents. All have roots from Kitty Hawk.
