By creating a thermonuclear reaction like the core of the Sun, Chinese-made devices can reach temperatures of hundreds of millions of degrees Celsius.

Chinese scientists have sought to "recreate" the Sun with a nuclear reactor , which can be considered as the artificial sun . According to Xinhua, this device is now complete and will be operational by 2020.

The device, called HL-2M, is located in Leshan City, Sichuan Province, a research result of the China National Atomic Company and the Southwest Institute of Physics. Despite being the artificial sun, the device can reach temperatures of up to 200 million degrees Celsius, which is about 13 times hotter than the core core.

Current nuclear reactors use fission - a series of reactions that separate uranium atoms to release energy. The fusion reaction, meanwhile, performs the opposite process of fusing atoms together.

When two hydrogen nuclei fuse together to become helium, they create a huge source of energy. This process is called fusion or fusion. It was previously thought that fusion reactions could only take place in the solar core.

If people know how to control fusion, people can create infinite and super clean energy. Atomic scientists around the world are still finding ways to control the thermonuclear reaction inside the devices they make.

"There is no guarantee that all issues are under control. But if we do not test it, it will certainly not solve the problem," Professor Gao Zhe of Tsinghua University told South China. Morning Post.

This is a collaboration between China and an international atomic energy testing project (ITER) based in France. This project includes trials in 35 countries and is expected to be completed by 2025.

In addition to HL-2M, China has another thermonuclear project in Hefei City, Anhui Province. EAST's state-of-the-art superconducting reactor has reached a temperature of 100 million degrees Celsius.
