If selected for the final list of 40, Lieu will begin training for 10 years before winning a one-way ticket to the red planet. Lieu also believed that she could become the first woman to give birth on Mars.

"Being able to do Adam and Eve on another planet is unbelievable. But since this is a program to create a community, eventually someone will have to give birth , " Express quoted Lieu. to speak. According to her, being the first mother on this planet would be an honor.

The major challenge for people living on the red planet is severe weather conditions, with temperatures of -62 degrees Celsius, the level of danger of radiation and the risk of starvation, dehydration or suffocation. Lieu said that this will be a big challenge, because there has never been any research on childbirth in low gravity environments.

Mars One is a non-profit project of Bas Lansdrop, a Dutch businessman. The project is aimed at bringing people to settle on Mars in 2024.

According to Mirror, after the selection process, the candidates will participate in many different training courses. They will have to grow their own food crops, find ways to survive on the red planet and be able to live underground. One of the other major challenges is the ability to connect to the Earth.
