On the afternoon of November 7, Deputy Minister of Health Trinh Quan Huan confirmed: Vietnam has discovered the first positive H5N1 in this season.
This case is male, 35 years old in O Cho Dua ward, Dong Da district, Hanoi. The patient went to the Tropical Medicine Clinical Institute on October 26 with symptoms of fever, shortness of breath, chest tightness and death on October 29. Specimens of patients were sent to the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology. Test results are positive for H5N1.
According to the patient's family, on October 16, the family bought chickens from Van Ho market to eat. During that meal, there were nearly 10 people eating chicken. Currently others are still healthy.
Immediately after detecting the above case, the authorities have carried out the zoning of detoxification and disinfection and closely supervised the area.
Thus, since the most recent case on July 24, after 3 months Vietnam has discovered a new case of H5N1.
