The moon has 600 million tons of ice

Scientists from the US Aeronautics Agency (NASA) say their Mini-SAR radar detected on the north pole of the moon has about 40 holes, 1.6 to 15 km in diameter, filled with ice. NASA estimates there are at least 600 million tons of ice on it.

'After analyzing the data, we confirmed that there is ice on the moon. This conclusion will become a target for new exploration and exploitation missions in the future , 'said Jason Crusan, member of the board of directors for NASA's space research division.

Previously, many scientists believed that the moon was completely dry, except that the bottom of the holes contained ice.

According to scientists, the exception may come from the crater area near the poles of the moon because of the presence of hydrogen atoms, forming water.

If this amount of water is large enough to be used, it is possible to consider settling on the moon in the future, especially when it can be "squeezed" by heating the ground.
