Others also saw a beam of bright light in the sky when the explosion occurred.

The giant crater was discovered by local reindeer shepherds in 2013. At that time, the hole was about 100m deep and 4m wide.

However, after 3 years, the crater rapidly increased to more than 15 times its original size. According to the most recent survey, the crater is about 70m wide.

Dr. Vladimir Epifanov said the explosion occurred about a month after a large meteorite exploded in the sky of Chelyabinsk.

Despite the rumors that this giant pit is made up of meteors or strange unidentified flying objects from space (UFO), some scientists have voiced refusal, saying that the variable Geological stratification in this area has formed such a big hole.

Most likely, the mysterious crater formed may be due to the explosion of methane gas or other types of gas.
