The phone works by urine

Thanks to the introduction of a new battery, people will be able to use the urine to generate electricity for cell phones in the near future.

Many people want to charge the phone with sunlight or body movement, but nobody thinks of charging the battery with urine . But that's the idea of researchers at the Bristol Robotics Lab in the UK. Thanks to their efforts, in the near future, cell phone users can use their urine to generate electricity for their phones.

Dr Loannis Ieropoulos, a fuel cell expert at the University of West Anglia, also participated in the study. He says this is the first time people have created cell phones capable of producing electricity from urine . In essence, it is a fuel cell that contains bacteria . In the process of decomposing urine for energy, bacteria produce electricity, the Science Daily reported.

"No one has ever used urine to produce electricity, so the discovery is an exciting and breakthrough event , " the doctor commented.

Sunlight, wind are the most common forms of renewable energy today. However, humans will not be able to generate electricity if the cloud obscures the sun, or if the wind does not appear. The same condition will not occur with urine and this is an advantage of it.

As the amount of electricity generated by the bacteria in the battery is relatively small, researchers are now only able to charge the batteries for charging and discharging.

"The cell phone battery that we make can generate enough electricity for you to text, access the web and make short calls , " Ieropoulos said.
