Brian Skinner was struck by lightning but fortunately escaped death in a photo shoot at the beach on the coast of New South Wales. Julia, his partner, recorded the scene and shared it online. Brian said the lightning is very close to him, perhaps less than 5m.

"Everything is like standing still . then lightning comes out of my body. I feel like an electric current running through my hand, through 5 fingers," he said.
Fortunately, Brian did not have to take the full impact of lightning and quickly escaped from the scene. He only had minor hand injuries with bruises and dark spots. Brian believed that it was the golden ring on his finger that captured the horrific effects of lightning and saved his life. A photo shows the ring being flattened partly after being struck by lightning.
"As soon as I got back in the car, I looked down at my hand and saw it was burnt black," he said. "The lightning really pierced my right hand, going through all my fingers and bending the gold ring in my hand."

After his death, he was surprised to find that he had strange abilities in a visit to a doctor for X-rays."In about a week, my senses were more sensitive. I could see everything that the naked eye could not see and hear people at great distances. I could even feel things with Spirituality". A month later, Brian surprised everyone by declaring himself capable of "reading the mind".
"I look at people and see what they think is like they are talking to me. I think I'm delusional, I tell people what I feel and everyone feels strange."
"Actually, if someone comes into the room, I will know what they want to say to me. I think, can I become Clark Kent or a superman?" , he said with a smile.

An expert revealed that the intensity of the lightning still existing in his body was the cause of that special ability. Although he had almost been struck by lightning, Brian was still interested in taking photos of lightning. However, with the "supernatural" possessing, it seems that this photographer will no longer be in the same danger in the future.
"Now I can feel when there's a storm approaching, I feel the energy around my hand even when I'm sleeping."
