As part of ESA's Swarm mission, scientists are mapping the Earth's magnetic field with the help of three satellites, and each satellite is equipped with several Earth research tools, including magnetometers. to measure the strength and direction of a magnetic field.

The result of the Swarm mission shows that the Earth's north pole is shifting south, towards Siberia. Not only that, the entire magnetic field is weakening, pushing the planet into the risk of cosmic radiation exposure.

However, experts reassure that this is just normal happenings, and the magnetic curtain of the Earth will regain strength in the future, according to NBC News.

When analyzing the ancient rock layer deep in the ground, the scientists believe that the poles from north and south tend to reverse after several million years.

Data from the Swam mission show that the magnetic pole may be preparing to reverse, but the process takes several thousand years.
