The power plant flies in the air to inspire energy

For a British company, stealth aircraft are not simply Amazon's delivery vehicles, but can also become mobile power plants in the sky.

New Wave Energy is attracting public attention with the idea of creating unmanned aerial vehicles capable of gathering energy in the sky. These "flying" plants are expected to operate thanks to the use of solar panels and small wind turbines.

According to the UK company, the special drone model can fly up to 15km above the ground, which is very convenient for generating energy from the wind and the sun. Once you have collected enough energy, the "mobile power plant" will fire energy through ultra-shortwave waves on ground antennas.

Ground antennas will then convert the microwave energy into electricity and pump it into the electricity grid for human activity. The entire process takes place while unmanned aircraft consume a small amount of electricity to maintain high activity.

Each unmanned aircraft will be designed to produce about 50kW of electricity. It was enough to illuminate a city when the power went out, and also enough to power a small residential area.

The use of "mobile power plants" is expected to be much larger, especially in natural disasters such as Hurricane Katrina sweeping the United States in 2005 or Hurricane Hayan ravaging the Philippines in November. In these cases, unmanned aerial vehicles can quickly be maneuvered to provide power to areas affected by power outages.

New Wave is preparing to launch a Kickstarter campaign to raise money for the development of the "power plant" project. If the $ 500,000 donation goal is achieved, the company's unmanned aerial vehicles can start operating within six months.
