Despite discovering something unusual, the giant Anaconda python still swam very calmly and completely ignored the presence of two divers.
While exploring the Formoso River in Brazil, a group of divers encountered a giant 7 meter long Anaconda python.
Bartolomeo Bove and his friend Juca Ygarape captured the python as it approached the camera in front of them. Bove said the python swam very calmly and completely ignored the divers' presence. After a few minutes, the python slithered along the river bed and left.
According to Bove, the rivers around the town of Bonito are the only places in South America where anacondas can be found under clear water. Therefore, divers can swim with them.
Anaconda can swim at a speed of 20km/h.
Anaconda pythons are giant pythons that live in the Amazon basin, South America. They lead an amphibian lifestyle but rarely climb trees because of their large body mass. This python species lives mainly in aquatic environments and inhabits tropical rainforests.
Anaconda can swim at speeds of up to 20 km/h and can stay underwater for up to 20 minutes. Like other snakes, they molt frequently.
Adult Anaconda pythons can be up to 9m long and weigh 550kg. Their oversized size is probably only slightly inferior to the Asian python.
In terms of living habits, Anaconda lives in the water but does not eat aquatic products such as fish. Their favorite prey is South American crocodiles, other snakes, goats and even South American leopards. Anaconda pythons digest quite slowly, so they can fast for a long time, about a week to find another victim.
