The US Army built protective armor in a can of water

The US Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) has conducted research into a number of new military technologies such as molten metal-to-metal missiles and submarine warfare. And most recently, the personal protective armor projected in a can of water.

This project is known as the Block Access to Deny Entry . The goal of the project is to create a protective armor that the enemy can not penetrate or infiltrate. This armor is stuffed in a cylindrical device the size of a can of fresh water. When triggered by the button, the armor will expand into a block of soldiers inside. Armor has the ability to stop, or at least slow, the enemy's inward penetration, when enemies use chainsaws or tools to break armor.

Even so, DARPA is thinking of the possibility of developing armor that can withstand both ammunition and missiles. This armor will have to be transparent so that the soldier can see the battlefield outside, as well as be able to shrink the size when needed.

The idea of the same type of armor has appeared in ... science fiction films, movies and video games, such as the bubble armor in Halo 3 in the illustration above. However, DARPA says that the technology can be used in a wide variety of applications, not just in armor. For example, people can create temporary shelters to keep people inside from avoiding outbreaks of disease out of nature, or temporary storage of food without being affected by weather or weather. .
