The value of lunch break

When was the last time you had lunch break? For many people, the answer is 'quite a long time'. It is the rush of life, the pressure of work has made many people do not have lunch break. This makes them face many health risks.

According to LiveScience, although there are not enough statistics nationwide, small-scale surveys show that up to two-thirds of workers skip lunch or have lunch at their desks. Ignoring lunch break is a trend in modern life.

With more and more workloads, people almost feel they have no time to rest. They choose to skip lunch, or eat very hastily, eat and take advantage of their work.

A CareerBuilder survey conducted in 2010 on this, has yielded the following results: 18% of workers always eat at their desks, 16% believe that skipping lunch is good for work. A third of people surveyed said they went to lunch, but only spent less than 30 minutes for this.

Similarly, an online survey conducted in 2011 found that 34% of workers in North America at lunch at their desks, 31% rarely, or never at lunch.

From the scientists' perspective, skipping lunch breaks puts you at risk for health. Lunch break, you can eat, relax. It is better than trying to cram work, and consequently reducing the productivity of the afternoon work.

In the 2010 study published in the Journal of Occupational Health Psychology, researchers found that workers with 20-minute lunch breaks were less stressed than their non-lunch colleagues. Conversations during the break also bring new friendships and cooperation opportunities.
