The wild cat appeared once extinct
Researchers on Jan. 13 said one of the world's rarest stray cats, a creature that was once extinct, had an image appearing in camera traps in Malaysia's Borneo region for the first time. First in 2003.

Researcher Wilhelmina Cluny said three photos of two or three Borneo Bay cats give new hope to the future of mysterious animals and are included in this extinct list .
According to Ms. Cluny, there have been very few research papers on Borneo Bay cats so far and there are no documents showing that the number of these species is increasing or decreasing. Most other information about this cat is only available in historical documents, describing morphology and anecdotes.
