This 90/10 rule can determine your life in the best way
How is everyday life dependent on our decisions. This rule will help you make the best decisions.
We depend very little on the random arrangement of "fate" , but how everyday life depends on our decisions.
To understand this, Stephen Covey - a famous speaker from the United States has put forth the "90/10 Rule" - a law that can determine your life. Let's find out how your daily behavior is going in the right direction.
What random things can lead you to?
First, ask the question: A beautiful afternoon, you are diving in endless papers, your boss appears in front of you. He started talking about how slow you were and forced you to fix everything.
You stand still and listen warmly to the point that you want to quit your job and immediately (but for some reason, you can't do that). At 6 PM, you go back to the chaotic traffic of rush hour. It takes 40 minutes to go 3km on the road, you start to get mad, squeeze a crazy horn and shout at the "masked" ninja who jostle and break the law.
Arriving home in anger, the hero stepped into the kitchen and bumped into the girl who was dancing to the table to prepare her meal. Oh, the sauce is full of your expensive shirt. At this point, you can't stand it anymore and start yelling at the child. Not satisfied with anger, you turn to the wife and yell why why soup is not ready when you go home?
What are the results you get?
Your wife of course angry mad people! She left in the room, leaving you with a scared little baby with an unfinished meal. You coax and you don't stop crying, so the meal lasts forever.
Meanwhile, you are both dirty and tired but you still have to clean up the "battlefield" along with handling the expensive shirt.
While washing my clothes in the sound of my baby crying and muttering, why do I have to endure these things? Let's choose the right answer.
- A. Do "monster" boss dare to scold you.
- B. Because the poster child spilled dirt on your shirt.
- C. Because my wife does not fulfill the duty of a wife.
- D. Because I can't control my anger
The correct answer is D. You have shown the wrong feelings in the wrong place!
Rule of 90/10
According to Covey, only 10% of events in life are random, the remaining 90% depends on our decision. Being scolded by the boss is an uncontrollable thing, among 10% of random events. But after that, you have complete control.
All of these things can change, because the decision is yours.
After being scolded, you can sit back and reflect on yourself where you were wrong and try to handle everything.
At 6 o'clock, there is a traffic jam before and after, so you can visit the bakery to buy something for your daughter.
The road is empty, you go straight to home, hug your wife and children, sit at the table to enjoy a hot meal. Your daughter seems very happy when she gets a surprise gift, so she obediently sits at the desk to quickly eat the cake.
The next morning you are praised again by the boss for making progress. It should have happened like that, if you don't hug your frustration when you're scolded by your boss.
Controlling your behavior, life will be determined by you.
Our lives will always meet such cases - not bosses, colleagues. And we can let them make life miserable, or you have to make your own life happy again.
Well, the rule of 90/10 advises you to control your emotions at the right time in the right place. From then on, you can control your own behaviors, then 90% of your life will be decided by you.
Wanting to be happy or sad, comfortable or angry is because of you. Remember this rule before doing something.
