‏‏The Tachi sword has gone through countless battles alongside Fukushima Masanori and remains intact to this day. For this reason, it is considered a masterpiece representing the pinnacle of swordmaking art as well as having an interesting historical story.

The Kamakura katana is a sword crafted during the Kamakura period, a period described as the golden age of swordmaking.

‏‏The Kamakura was purchased in 1992 from the sword collection of Dr. Walter Ames Compton, the blade is estimated to date from the 13th century. According to records, only 125 similar Kamakura katanas were ever made, but not all of them are in as good condition as the sword in the collection.

‏Researchers believe that this katana originated from the Taima sword school, which produced many thin swords. A characteristic of swords from this school is that they do not have names, as swordsmiths rarely engraved their names on these swords. ‏

Through the date and the name of the maker engraved on the sword, it can be proven that the Shoshu katana originated from the Nanbokucho period of the 14th century. The sword was made by a master Japanese swordsmith who lived in Kyoto during this period. He is believed to be the blacksmith Hasebe Kunishige, a sword student at the Sosho dojo and a disciple of the sword master Masamune.

Hasebe Kunishige is considered one of the most legendary and revered swordsmiths in Japan.

This Tokubetsu Katana was crafted by swordsmith Naniwa Jyu Gassan Sadayoshi in the late Edo period. It still retains its historical value today thanks to the inscriptions engraved on the blade.

‏Naniwa Jyu Gassan Sadayoshi was an excellent swordsmith who studied at the Gassan dojo, a dojo founded in Japan in the 12th century. This dojo was known not only for producing legendary swordsmiths but also for producing excellent quality katanas at extremely high prices.
